Cobra showed a new mentality, a new way of working and new performances. The CoBrA group turned away from traditional painting and sought a spontaneous, experimental and exuberant way of painting. Cobra artists do not find it important to replicate them exactly. They let the motifs spring from their imagination. They were inspired by the art of nature peoples and the naivety of children's drawings. Human and animal motifs are characteristic of the Cobra movement. The most important members of Cobra were Karel Appel, Constant (1920), Corneille (1922), the Belgians Dotremont (1922-1979) and Alechinsky (1927) and the Dane Asger Jorn (1914-1973)._x000D_

Karel Appel never, in his own words, paints the abstraction, although his work does approach that strongly. There are always recognizable figures to discover, whether they are people, animals or suns. Besides paintings, he makes gouaches, lithographs and brightly colored sculptures and reliefs of wood, aluminum and polyester._x000D_

Thus, since 1970, scale models of numerous imaginary vehicles, planes, balloons or helicopters have been created in all possible original-surprising forms. They are as many variations on the dream of flying the mythological figure Icarus. Whether these aircraft can really fly is part of the mystery and attraction._x000D_

Hermanus (Herman) Brood (Zwolle, 5 November 1946 - Amsterdam, 11 July 2001) was a Dutch singer, painter, pianist, actor and author. Bread distinguished itself by its distinctive singing voice and musical diversity. He was the Dutch embodiment of the hedonistic creed Sex, drugs & rock 'n' roll.

After amphetamine and years of heavy alcohol consumption had destroyed his body to a high degree, Brood showed standard withdrawal symptoms such as incontinence, epilepsy and delirium tremens. Four months before his fifty-fifth birthday, he jumped to death with a farewell note in his pocket from the roof of the Amsterdam Hilton hotel.

Professionally framed in white shelf for an optimal representation of the artwork.

Paul Van Hoeydonck is the only artist in the world who has a work of art on the moon. Fallen Astronaut (Fallen astronaut) is an aluminum statue of an astronaut of 8.5 cm made by the Belgian artist Paul Van Hoeydonck. It was the first, and to this day the only art object on the moon. The "" Fallen Astronaut "" came on the moon because the crew of the American Apollo 15-space mission wanted to make a personal gesture in honor of the American astronauts and Soviet cosmonauts who had given their lives for the development of the exploration of space. . The then three recently cosmonauts of the Soviet mission Soyuz 11 reinforced this desire. David Scott, the commander of the mission, met Paul Van Hoeydonck. Scott knew that Van Hoeydonck used the theme of space travel in his art and discussed the idea of a statue with him. From this grew the agreement that Paul Van Hoeydonck would make a statue to place on the moon. Van Hoeydonck received a number of design guidelines from David Scott. The figurine had to be light and sturdy and could withstand the extreme temperature differences on the moon. The statue also had to be sexless or seem to belong to a certain ethnic group. Because David Scott did not want to commercialize space, the name of Paul Van Hoeydonck would not be made public. On August 2, 1971, David Scott located a memorial plaque on the moon at the end of the last spacewalk of the Apollo 15 mission. This contains the fourteen names of all astronauts and cosmonauts who were known at the time. Scott placed the "" Fallen Astronaut "" figurine next to it in a fallen state. It was also Scott who took the picture of the statue and the plaque

Koen Vanmechelen (Sint-Truiden, 26 August 1965) is a well-known contemporary Belgian conceptual artist with international renown. He started his career in the early nineties and has since become one of the most prolific and prominent contemporary artists in Belgium. His comprehensive and innovative work explores the theme of bio-cultural diversity through the Gallus gallus domesticus or chicken, and his ancestor, the bankiva ham. His most famous project is The Cosmopolitan Chicken Project or CCP, an international event in which he goes looking for a hybrid or cosmopolitan chicken by crossing national chicken breeds. This super-astral would eventually carry genes from all chicken breeds in the world. The 17th generation, the Malines Styrian, was born in April 2013 in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana. Together with its two other cosmopolitan projects, the CosmoGolem and The Walking Egg, The Cosmopolitan Chicken Research Project forms the core of his work, which the artist oversees from the Open University of Diversity, [6] in the old Gelatinefabriek in Hasselt.

Vanmechelen's artworks investigate and honor the diversity and hybridity of life: "" Every organism needs a different organism to survive "". Biocultural diversity and the resulting interaction between art and science form the main theme of his oeuvre. Vanmechelen often collaborates with scientists and experts from various disciplines, such as Jean-Jacques Cassiman, Rik Pinxten and Marleen Temmerman. He uses innovative technology, such as 3D scanning, morphometry, 3D printing and interactive visualization techniques. His work is inherently cross-media and varies from very expressive paintings and drawings to photography, video, installations, glasswork and even wooden sculptures. As a common thread in this variety of ways of expression, we often see the chicken and the egg coming back. Over the years these have become important symbols that allow the artist to connect scientific, political, philosophical and ethical issues, and which often form the starting point for debates, conversations and lectures.

Four accompanying photo lithographs of solar clips by Ann Veronica Janssens. These four works are equipped with A, B, C and D at the back. Ann Veronica Janssens has hand-signed only one copy to prevent the four pieces from being separated.

Ann Veronica Janssens is a sculptor of light, sound and space. Ann Veronica Janssens almost always works in a minimal way without really being part of the minimal art. The fact that her work is sometimes associated with the minimalistic movement is due to the clear design and the choice of materials: transparent, glossy or compacted and seemingly inaccessible.
